Nearlink

Privacy Policy

Where your data goes

Nowhere β€” not to us. Nearlink has no servers. Your notifications, messages, contacts, photos and videos, files and screen flow only between your phone and your own Mac, directly over your local network.

That connection is end-to-end encrypted with AES-256-GCM, using a key exchange authenticated by the secret you share during pairing.

What we collect

The Nearlink app itself has no account, no sign-up and no login.

No analytics, no ads, no tracking, and nothing is ever shared with third parties.

Nearlink doesn't send your phone's data to the internet β€” it only sets up the local connection between your phone and your Mac.

Your phone stores only the pairing info for that connection: your Mac's address and a secret token. Re-pairing clears it, and uninstalling the app deletes all local data.

Permissions and why

Every permission below stays on-device. Nothing it touches is uploaded to a server β€” it's only sent to your own paired Mac, on your own network.

Notification access β€” shows your phone's notifications on your Mac.

SMS (read, receive, send) β€” lets you read, write and send messages from your Mac.

Contacts β€” showing your address book and placing calls from your Mac.

Phone and call log β€” showing who is calling, and answering, muting or ending a call from your Mac.

Photos and videos β€” lets you view and download your gallery from your Mac.

All files β€” lets you browse and download your files from your Mac.

Accessibility β€” syncs your clipboard and lets you control your screen from your Mac.

Display over other apps β€” opening the right app on your phone when you click a mirrored notification on your Mac.

Screen recording β€” capturing your phone's screen so it can appear on your Mac. Nothing is ever written to a file.

Camera β€” scanning the pairing QR code, and β€” when you turn it on β€” streaming your phone's camera to your Mac as a webcam. The video goes only to your paired Mac.

This website

We don't collect anything ourselves: there's no signup form, no analytics, no cookies and no advertising trackers. The Contact and Support pages just open your own email app with a mailto: link. Our hosting provider does keep standard server logs β€” the kind any web server keeps, including for the APK download β€” but we don't add any tracking on top of that.
